Dersin Amacı	Students will be able to critically analyze theoretical frameworks underpinning materials development and evaluation; apply established criteria and models to evaluate foreign language teaching materials; assess the suitability of materials for specific teaching contexts and learner needs; identify strengths and weaknesses in textbooks, digital tools, and authentic resources; adapt and supplement existing materials to enhance learning outcomes; design principled materials evaluation checklists and tools.
Dersin Tanımı	This course provides a thorough exploration of the principles, frameworks, and practices involved in evaluating teaching and learning materials used in foreign language education. It equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to critically assess, select, adapt, and design instructional materials across diverse language learning contexts. Drawing on current research in applied linguistics, second language acquisition, and curriculum design, the course examines a wide range of materials, including textbooks, digital resources, authentic materials, and AI-assisted tools. Students will engage with key evaluation models and develop systematic approaches to analyzing materials in terms of pedagogical effectiveness, cultural relevance, inclusivity, and alignment with learning objectives.
