Course objective To inform the ublic relations discipline efforts to persuade, organizational style, media, consumers, relations with employees, the roles undertaken in the formation of the public and the areas of application within the scope of application by considering the critical tradition
Course description It makes sense of the sociological functions of the activities carried out within the scope of public relations nurtured from critical tradition.

Course contents
1 The main characteristics ways of mainstream communication theories and critical approach
2 Understanding the pioneers of the critical approach and the basic concepts of the theories they developed
3 Critical analysis of the issues highlighted in various public relations definitions in scope of critical approach.
4 The relationship between consent production, propaganda, perception management, social engineering and public relations practices
5 Comparison of different historiography on Pimlott, Tedlow, Smythe, Olasky''s evaluations on the history of public relations
