Course objective The aim of the course is to provide students with theoretical knowledge about carbohydrates.
Course description Monosaccharides, D-and L-isomerism, disaccharides, polysaccharides, glycogen structure, glycogen metabolism, c-AMP-cascade, hormonal regulation of glycogen metabolism, glycogen storage disease, glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, pentose phosphate pathway, blood glucose control, Cori-cycle.
