Mode of delivery This course will be conducted face to face in the computer lab.
Course objective The purpose of this course is to increase students basic computer knowledge and skills.
Course description This course introduces computer concepts, including basic functions and operations of the computer. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role and function of computers. In addition, this course covers Internet/Intranet skills and uses a software suite, which includes word processing and presentation software to demonstrate skills.

Course contents
1 General Computer Culture: Basic structure of computers, hardware, software, driver, folder and file. Operation Systems.
2 Windows Operation Systems: General characteristics of Windows Operation Systems and drivers, creating file and folder and renaming, file types.
3 Windows Operation Systems: Basic applications of file and folder. (Copy, move and delete). Ways to run programme files. Start, programs, calculator and notepad. Introduction of open and save windows and applications of creating file.
4 Windows Operation Systems: Basics of using a program, Notepad and MsPaint,. Seting up an application. Using desktop and creating shortcut and folder. Using Winzip and Winrar.
5 Using Internet and E-mail: General informations about internet. Basic characteristics of internet and a short surf. Using e-mails, an applications of file and folder construction.
6 Starting to use Microsoft Word text editor: Introduction of Microsoft Word. Creating a file, creating a new file, saving and using security protections with passord. Using an exist file and updating. Using Microsoft Word with keyboard and mouse. Rules of writing text. (Letter, word, sentence, line and paragraph)

8 Starting to use Microsoft Word text editor: Setting up page structure, view properties, Font type, Paragraph, line, ruler. Working with sample file.
9 Microsoft Word text editor: Borders, shadows, making a list, footnote, text box, image. Working with sample file.
10 Microsoft Word text editor: Table, drawing
11 Microsoft Word text editor: Working with sample file.
12 Microsoft Word text editor: Icons, objects, formula, print out preview and printing, page numbers. Working with sample file.
13 Microsoft Word text editor: Definition a style, using style. Creating contents page. Working with sample file.
14 Microsoft PowerPoint presentation program. Introduction of the program. Creating a slide and presentation. Working with sample file.
