Course objective To increase the level of knowledge and clinical experience on periodontology and implantology and to provide gain in clinical research experience

1 Evidence-based approach in clinical practice
2 Diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with advanced periodontal disease involving multidisciplinary approaches and integrated treatment
3 Dental implant application and its maintenance in patients with periodontitis
4 The use of lasers in periodontal and peri-implant treatment
5 Microsurgery in periodontal therapy
6 Tissue engineering in periodontal tissue regeneration and periodontal plastic surgery
7 The use of dental tomography in periodontal diagnosis and treatment

Learning outcomes of the course unit
1 To have knowledge in making a evidence-based periodontal treatment plan in patients with periodontitis
2 To have knowledge in diagnosing and making treatment in cooperation with endodontics, orthodontics and prosthodontics in complex cases with advanced periodontal disease
3 To have knowledge in dental implant applications in patients with advanced alveolar bone loss and in maintenance therapy for the survival of these implants
4 To have knowledge on use of lasers in the treatment of periodontal and peri-implant inflammmatory situations
5 To have knowledge on performing microsurgery in need of working more gently under magnification
6 To have knowledge in tissue engineering methods used to regain the lost periodontal and peri-implant supporting tissues and esthetics due to inflammation
7 To have knowledge in dental tomographies used as an adjunct to conventional imaging methods in periodontal diagnosis and treatment planning
