Course objective	The aim of the course is to understand and analyze the society, which is the natural and basic element of the city, to interpret and discuss the changes in society with changing conditions, and to deal with the relations of social structure and dynamics with urban space.
Course description	The concept of settlement and the changes between settlement and society in the development process of civilization constitute the main content of the city. In this context, the effects of social and cyclical changes on the city, the social and spatial consequences of the Industrial Revolution, 20. Society and city, globalization and the phenomenon of the world city will be discussed. Afterwards, it will be emphasized how the relationship between society and the city has been handled in sociological theories since the 19th century.
