Course objective The course will provide information on administrative organization of Hittits, Hittits’ law, social life the socio-political and cultural developments of the ancient settlements.
Course description To teach political and social structures of the ancient Anatolian civilizations.

Course contents
1 Tuthalia II and foundation of the new Hittite State,
2 Foundation of the Hittite Empire at the period of Suppiluliuma I,
3 The Hittite Empire at the period of Mursili II and Muwatalli
4 The period of Hattusili III and Pudu-Hepa,
5 Tuthalia IV, Kurunta and decline of the Hittite State,
6 Aegean migrations and their results,
7 Late Hittite City states,
8 MID-TERM EXAM
9 Hurries and Urartus in the eastern Anatolia,
10 Phrygians in Anatolia and Phrygia State,
11 Lydia and its relations with the Greek cities in the western Anatolia,
12 Lycia in the first thousand year and history of Pamphilia district,
13 History of the Karya district in the first thousand year,
14 History of Ionia, Aioli, Troia and Mysia districts in the first thousand year.

1 This course is aiming to convey that Mesopotamia is open for settlements since ancient ages due to its geopolitical and geo-strategic location and how the relations between Anatolia and Mesopotamia occurred.
