Course objective The objectives that are expected from the students as followings: - To define the child - To measure weight of the child - To measure height of the child - To evaluate the child’s physical development according to growth chart - To make newborn examine according to the newborn examine form - To evaluate vital signs of the child - To evaluate cognitive development of the child - To evaluate social development of the child - To evaluate sexual development of the child - To evaluate moral development of the child - To evaluate play characteristics of the child - To evaluate the effect of staying in hospital on the child’s development - To practice family centered care - To make nursing care plan suitable for the child’s disease and development stage. - To evaluate nursing care outcomes - To direct the care according to evaluation results - To give education to the child suitable for the child’s disease and development stage - To give education to the family suitable for the child’s disease and development stage - To develop home care follow-up suitable for the child’s disease and development stage - To make into consideration of the child’s characteristics in practices (medicine practice, fluid following, nutrition with NG, urine analysis etc.)
Course description This course is a module that contains pediatric intern practice. In the module, students are given some information related to normal growth and development of 0-18 aged children and all health deviation status (The child staying in hospital and the family, common diseases in pediatric -endocrine, neurology, nephrology, genitourinary system, muscle-skeleton system, hematology-oncology, collagen-tissue diseases, nutrition disorders, newborn with congenital defect, infections, medicine practices) of them. The students are also acquired skills in related area practices.

Course contents
