Course objective Introduction to enzymes and enzyme kinetics and understanding of the enzyme structures and functions.
Course description General properties of enzymes, differences of enzymes from chemical catalysts, chemical structure of enzymes, cofactors and coenzymes, biosynthesis enzymes, nomenclature and classification of enzymes, oxidoreductases, transferases, hydrolases, lyases, isomerases , ligases, the methods of enzyme activity, the factors acting on the enzyme activities,enzyme kinetics: Michaelis - Menten, Line weaver - Burk curves, the specificity of the enzymes, allosteric enzymes. activators and inhibitors, competitive inhibition, noncompetitive inhibition, objective and strategy of the purification of enzyme, immobilization of the enzymes.
