Course description Course objective is examining Byzantine Architecture in 6th to 14th centuries in Anatolia, Constantinopolis and in abroad.

Course contents
1 Introduction to the general history of Byzantium and Byzantine Architecture
2 Early Christian period, the home and grave finds.
3 Examples of the first religion in Rome (4th century), the Lateran Basilica S. Pietro, S. Agnese and the birth in Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Golgotha basilicas.
4 5. century architecture of S. Sabina in Rome and the Churches of S. Maria Maggiore, H. Demetrios in Thessaloniki, Panagia Acheiropocitos, Greece Leonidas H., Epidauros basilicas.
5 Ravenna 6 century architecture; S. Apollinare Nouvo and S. Apollinare in Classe
6 Istanbul 5 century architecture; Studios monastery church, mosque Acemağa.
7 Eirene H. Sophia in Istanbul, and H. 's 4-6. century architectural history.
