Mode of delivery Interactive teaching techniques in classroom instruction, various audiovisual materials are used. The topics in the unit are carried out by relevant departments of the faculty. HLNM-2 is the second module of the first year fall semester and lasts 5 weeks.
Course objective • Students learn the importance of perception, observation, intelligence-memory, anxiety and fear concepts and their use in the nursing care process. • To teach students body temperature measurement, body mechanics and positions, and health education. • To teach students about fluid-electrolyte balance in adults and children. • To teach students anatomical terms, terms related to anatomy and histology of bones and joints. • To teach students 1-3 age period and growth theories. • To teach students carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism and food groups. • To teach students the principles of water sanitation and civil defense. • To teach students first aid in first aid, fracture, dislocation, sprain, injuries, burns, sunstroke and frostbite, principles of hot-cold practices and patient-injured transportation.
Course description This module covers perception, observation, intelligence-memory, anxiety, fear, body temperature measurement, body mechanics and positions, teaching in nursing, fluid-electrolyte balance in adults and children, anatomical terms, anatomy and histology of bones and joints, 1-3 age period and growth theories, carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism and food groups, water sanitation, civil defense, access to first aid, first aid in fractures, dislocations, sprains, injuries, burns, sunstroke and frostbite, hot-cold practices and patient-injured transportation includes topics.
