Course description	to have information on the History of The Republic of Turkey

Course contents

1	Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s Comprehension of Democracy and its Aplications During The National İndependence War.
2	Groups Constituted in The First Grand National Assembly of Turkey (The first and second Association for Defence of National Rights of Anatolia and Rumelia)
3	Founding of republican people’s party (1923-1946) 9 principles, congress and general assembly, community center, autocephalous group and thirty fives
4	Founding of progressive republican party, its activities, its closing, its party quarrels with republican people’s party, Law on the maintenance order
5	Founding of the free republican party, its İzmir trip, its closing, its relations with republican people party
6	Atatürk’s death, things which are said about Atatürk in external media, repercussions, İsmet İnönü’s being selected as the President of the Republic of Turkey.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

1	Applied comprehension of democracy during the national struggle will be grasped
2	Different groups which were constituted in the first Grand National Assembly of Turkey will be commented on
3	The process of republican people’s party until 1950s will be learned
4	Republican people’s party and Progressive republican party will be compared
5	The Republican people’s party and The free republican party will be evaluated.
6	How Atatürk died will be learned and selecting İsmet İnönü as the president of the Republic will be grasped.
7	Diffculties in the second word war years will be told.
8	Applied tax policy, laws and what was committed between 1939 and 1945 years will be evaluated.
9	How the .transition to Multi-Party Life occured will be evaluated.
10	1946 and 1950 elections will be commented and compared
