Dersin amacı The aim of the thesis study is provide making an original contribution to knowledge in the field of Biology with a thesis that the students will write and defend.

1- Lisans ve yüksek lisans düzeyinde edinilen yeterliliklere dayalı olarak bilgilerini geliştirebilme ve özgün çalışmalar yapabilecek seviyeye ulaşabilme
2- Edindikleri uzmanlık düzeyindeki teorik ve pratik bilgileri kullanabilme, elde ettiği sonuçları değerlendirme ve gerektiğinde uygulayabilme becerisine sahip olma
3- Matematik alanındaki bilgilerini farklı disiplinlerden edindiği bilgilerle bütünleştirerek yeni çalışmalar yapabilme
4- Uzmanlık gerektiren problemleri, bilimsel araştırma yöntemleri kullanarak analiz edebilme, yorumlayabilme ve çözüm üretebilme
5- Kendi alanında bağımsız olarak problemler kurgulama, bu problemlerin matematiksel modellerini oluşturarak çözümler üretebilme
6- Matematik alanında güncel gelişmeleri ve kendi çalışmalarını, kendi alanında ve alanı dışında çalışan araştırmacılara yazılı, sözlü ve görsel olarak aktarabilme
7- Yaptığı çalışmalarda, konusuyla ilgili verilerin derlenmesi,düzenlenmesi, yorumlanması ve kullanılması aşamalarında toplumsal ve bilimsel etik değerlere saygı göstermesi
8- Matematiksel bilgi birikimini teknolojide etkin ve verimli bir şekilde kullanabilme
9- Alanı ile ilgili ulusal ve uluslararası bilimsel toplantılara katılarak bilgi paylaşımında bulunabilme
10- Kendi alanında veya diğer disiplinlerde bilgiye ulaşma yöntemlerini etkin ve etik değerlere uygun olarak kullanabilme.
