Dersin amacı
|
The objectives of this course are to:
- introduce students to the various weed control methods in the tropics; and
- provide students with knowledge of how to combine two or more of these methods
through integrated weed management (IWM) in certain crops grown in the tropics.
- introduce students to the various herbicide formulations available for weed control in the tropics and the factors that determine the choice of formulation to use.

The course focuses on Principles of weed management, general methods of weed control including preventive, cultural,mechanical, biological, chemical, and biotechnological approach to weed management. Classification and chemistry of herbicides, their residual effects on the environment, methods of herbicide use, and safety precautions, and herbicide formulations.
